I am extremely privileged and grateful to be selected to compete in this prestigious event. For my country Zimbabwe this is the 2nd time we are participating in the Young Chef Olympiad Competition.
I started my culinary journey in January 2012 at the age of 21years. My desire to be a chef goes back to childhood memories from my grandma – known as “gogo” in my culture. She inspired me to enter this amazing culinary world because of the colourful dishes and mouth-watering aromas that came from her kitchen – which was the highlight of everyone’s day!
Currently I am part of the Culinary Team at Meikles Hotel which is Zimbabwe’s premier luxury 5 star Hotel. I have been lucky to have witnessed and in some cases worked with talents such as Rory Lumsden from UK (Michelin Star Chef) and Vikipriya Shokeen from India, to name a few.
